Vipin Saxena received a Post Graduate degree in Applied Mathematics (M.Sc.) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in 1991, continued education in the IIT Roorkee (Formerly University of Roorkee) and received M.Phil. degree in Computer Application in 1992 and also a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in the year 1997. Prof. Saxena started career as a Lecturer from Priyadarshini College of Computer Sciences, New Delhi in the year 1995 and worked from 3 September 1995 to 30 October 1997 after completing research work from IIT, Roorkee. After that, Prof. Saxena joined Department of Computer Science (Formerly Centre for Vocational Studies), Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow on 31 October 1997 and served this Central University as Lecturer from 31 October 1997 to 30 October 2001, Senior Lecturer from 31 October 2001 to 24 June 2005, Reader from 25 June 2005 to 24 June 2008, Associate Professor from 25 June 2008 to 24 June 2011, and presently serving as Professor in Department of Computer Science since 25 June 2011. During the above period, Prof. Saxena also worked as a Professor in the University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg, South Africa on the lien from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
As a teacher, Prof. Saxena dynamically handled the various Administrative Positions in BBAU, Lucknow as Incharge of Centre for Vocational Studies, Coordinator of Placement Cell, Centre for Vocational Studies and Virtual Class Room, Head of Department of Computer Science, Head of Department of Applied Mathematics, Director of Computer Centre, Dean of School of Information Science and Information Technology, Dean of School of Physical Sciences, Dean of School of Languages, Dean of School of Education and Dean of Alumni Relations. Further, Prof. Saxena has the various other responsibilities in BBAU as Chairman of Board of Studies, Chairman of Departmental Research Committee, Chairman of School Board, Member of Board of Management, Member of Academic Council, Member of Board of Directors of Electronic Multi-media Research Centre, Member of Building Committee, Member of Planning Board, and also in other International and National Universities and Organizations as Expert Member of Various committees.
